a. Karlstejn Castle

b. Konopiste Castle
pictureThe Konopiště chateau is about 45 km out of Prague. It was founded in the14th century and in 1887 it was renovated by the successor to the Habsburg throne, František Ferdinand d’Este, who was assassinated in Sarajevo in 1914, starting the World War I. The chateau is famous for its fascinating collection of weapons and hunting trophies.

c. Kutná Hora
pictureThe picturesque medieval town of Kutná Hora, part of the UNESCO World Cultural and Natural Heritage, is situated approximately 60 km east of Prague. The sources of the beauties and riches of Kutná Hora are in the silver mines that were exploited most intensively in the 14th and 15th century. At that time the town rivallet Prague itself in importance. During this excursion you will see interesting and most impressive sights as the unique Gothic Cathedral of St. Barbara, the patron of saint miners, the nearby Hrádek building which has a direct relationship with the town’s mining past, Wallachian Court (Vlašský dvůr) which is an important building, originally a Royal Mint, that once produced Prague groschen as well. Then you will see the Gothic fountain, and the Archdeacon’s Church of St. James.

e. Český Krumlov

It was a seat of the powerful Rozmberk and Schwarzenberg families and now houses rich historical collections. In the castle gardens you cannot miss the unique 18th century castle theatre.

f. Hluboká nad Vltavou
Hrady a zámky jsou dokladem vysoké úrovně českého stavitelství.Hluboká nad Vltavou is a monumental Romantic chateau; originally a Gothic castle, it was remodeled in the Baroque style during the first half of the 18th century. It underwent a significant transformation in the 19th century, when it was remodeled in the English Windsor-style Gothic and became the official seat of the Schwarzenberg dynasty. The complex includes a glassed-in winter garden, a riding hall, an English-style park (190 hectares) and a chapel. Sumptuously furnished period interiors feature unique woodcarvings and valuable collections.
